A model (Hersey-Blanchard) suggesting that no single leading style is best; instead, it depends on the situation and the maturity/competence of the followers.

• Directing: For low competence, high commitment.
• Coaching: For some competence, low commitment.
• Supporting: For high competence, variable commitment.
• Delegating: For high competence, high commitment.
